Four remarkable movies I saw today:

Bliss
Turkey
2007
Directed by Abdullah Oguz
2 words: Beautiful and Uplifting.
A wonderfully created spectacle of a story of an unfortunate banished girl from an Islamic village, who renews her life through a series of events that take place.
Wow factor: Direction and Cinematography

Valu
Maharashtra, India
2007
Directed by Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni
2 words: Hilarious and Sensational.
How would you feel if the theatre is houseful, the crowd knows the language & in sync with every word, and they are bursting out with laughter every other moment? Do not miss this film people, it’ll release soon. It takes you to the rural world and makes you stay there with others. Minute to minute entertainer.
Wow factor: Direction, Casting, Acting, Dialogues etc.

Sleepwalking Land
Mozambique-Portugal
2007
Directed by Teresa Prata
2 words: Touching and Heart-rending.
The war comes alive. How do some humans live, their perception, livelihood comes to a standstill in those circumstances, very well expressed here. The film is as meticulously directed as the it’s written.
Wow factor: Direction, Story

Kika
Spain
1993
Directed by Pedro Almodovar
2 words: Funny and Baffling.
It seems the best directors come up with the weirdest ones. Rape and murder, a newer way to look at it. Some really crazy scenes which are not recommended for heart patients, children below 21 and children above 60.
Wow factor: Direction
