Alright, let’s try breaking mixed reactions. Since every movie these days has a different outlook, people react with as much diversity as the themes themselves! After every release, we have distributors slogging with the producers, people clogging multiplex parking-lots and bloggers blogging all over the blogosphere.
Criticism is easy, we had a great experience with discussions on the Saawariya review (aka war). So I thought lets write the nice, optimistic side of Aaja Nachle. It’s not only an entertainer, but also a trip down the memory lane for Madhuri fans. So here’s my report on 7 reasons I feel would make you see the movie:

1) Madhuri: Back with a bang, playing mom of a 12-year old, the role has appropriately suited Madhuri Dixit’s personality. Her brilliant smile has been persistent over the years, and has a different charm in Aaja Nachle. No Madhuri fan has left unfulfilled with the desire to watch her again on screen. She has predominantly done full justice to ‘Diya’, the main character in the movie.
2) Dialogues: Exceptional is the word.
If anyone appreciates pure metaphorical expressions in Hindi and Urdu, this is the movie. The best one I found was when Mrs. Chojar (Sushmita Mukherjee) is ordered not to play her part by Mr. Chhojar (Vinay Pathak). Also ones with the enacted fake acerbity in Diya’s lines to Raja saab. The art of delivery in writing has been experimented when Jaideep Sahni is playing with every character a consequent game of word-builder.
3) Dance & Music: Superior performances. Madhuri has made the right moves to hypnotize the audience with her thumkas and jhatkas. Overall choreography is good, but the final dance in the opera is indeed a spectacle. You’ll be uplifted by the production efforts and the cinematography. Everyone knows, Salim-Sulaiman rock! Some of the songs throw light on the script to an extent where all disregard and illogical bollywood elements are washed off and what is maintained is the subtlety of a musical.

4) Opera: Aaja Nachle recreates the legacy of timeless love stories through almost an hour-long extravaganza of Liala-Majnu. It makes you clear to why we call romantics majnus or lailas. Wonderfully directed, the play seems like a different part of the movie.
5) Glitter: Oh the glamour. Madhuri like always has beautified the extravagant YRF art direction, making sure the viewers get enough reasons to be amused.
Like Devdas, Aaja Nachle has some really nice sets, especially in the end.
6) Cast: They must’ve spent enough days to get the casting right. Sometimes the overall cast makes the movie even more enjoyable. Not just Madhuri, each and every one deserves as applause for their performaces.
Konkona Sen Sharma (Anokhi) - Lovable as always.

Kunal Kapoor (Imran) - The stud did it again.
Divya Dutta (Najma) - In a Short but very sweet role, Divya has gripped us all.
Ranvir Shorey (Mohan Sharma) - Shown addicted to Diya, Ranvir has given his authentic touch to the role and nicely led it.
Irfan Khan (Najma’s husband) - Hollywood is waiting for you.

Raghubir Yadav, Vinay Pathak, Akhilendra Mishra (Chaudhary Om Singh), Jugal Hansraj (Sanjeev Mehta), Sushmita Mukherjee (Mrs. Chojar), Akshay Khanna (M.P.) - All have done their bit so well, that Aaja Nachle becomes one of the best movies of the year.
7) The Message: Aaja Nachle has a motivational message which will startle a few, who have been ignoring and supressing their creative talent. The film teaches us the art of ‘Theater Therapy’, which Diya uses to heal the town of Shamli.

I don’t really like the music of the film but with Madhuri dancing to it, I am sure it is far more enjoyable.
@Badal: After all the newspapers and news channels ripping the movie apart, it’s nice to see an optimistic critic for a change.

I don’t understand what people ( limited but loud) are complaining about in Aaja Nachle. It is a very pleasant movie with very intelligent subtleties and references, the excellent cast and Madhuri make it an outstanding movie. I came out like dazed ! It has very good music ( O Re Piya, Is Pal, Move it - excellanto dance in this one ), and the main tracks grow on you. It must take tremendous spite or lack of intelligence for the negative critics of the movie. Somebody scared of Madhuri out there ….hello the public is watching ;)?
